Got a Pro model iPhone and want to upgrade your filmmaking?
iPhone Cinematography 101 is a free two-day intensive with award-winning filmmaker Timi Akindele Ajani, who shoots work for major brands and institutions on the same phone that is sitting in your pocket.
Across two days we will break down his full process: the fundamentals of shooting on iPhone, the pre-production and prep that makes projects professional, and the post production pipeline from edit through to colour grade in DaVinci Resolve.
What you'll learn:
- The fundamentals. What your Pro model is actually capable of, how to take manual control of it, and the shooting decisions that separate footage that looks like a phone from footage that does not.
- Pre-production and prep. The unglamorous half that decides whether a project lands or falls apart before you have shot a frame.
- Post-production. The full pipeline from edit through to colour grade in DaVinci Resolve, so you leave with finished work rather than a folder of clips.
You will spend the two days at GGH, a working creative space, alongside other people making the same jump.
It is not about owning an expensive camera. It is about using what you have, properly.
Who is the workshop for?
- You have a Pro model iPhone and a nagging sense you are using about ten percent of it
- You want to make films but the cost of entry has always been the wall
- You shoot already, but your footage still looks like phone footage
- You can edit a bit, but colour grading is a black box
- aged 18-30 from Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, or Waltham Forest

Essential:
Your Iphone (Minimum Model Iphone 15 Pro)
A laptop with DaVinci Resolve installed (free versions will work for this session)
Desirable but not essential: headphones, external hard drive and a tripod if available
